Minna is a company that I have really admired since they hit the scene a few years back with the Ola. I love their colorful packaging, clean design and simple “squeeze to use” functionality. So it should come as no surprise that I was incredibly excited when Minna launched a crowd funding campaign for a new toy, the Limon, last year. What’s not to love about an adorable little citrus shaped squeezy vibrator?! When I finally got my hands on one 1, well, it was love at first … squeeze.
I’m an impatient person and, while I love rechargeable vibes, I really hate waiting for toys to charge – especially if it’s a new toy. I just keep looking at it saying “Is it done yet, is it done yet? How ’bout now? Now?” I mention this because one of my absolutely favorite things about the Limon is that it comes pre-charged! Yup, it’s good to go right out of the box which is great because once you see the Limon, you can’t help but want to play with it. The toy is rounded with a nub at the top that makes it look at lot like a lemon or a lime (hence the name). The nub provides nice pinpoint stimulation while the more rounded surface can cover a larger area and provide more diffused stimulation. It’s a great size (3″ x 2″ x 2″) that fits easily in the hand without being too large and cumbersome or too small and hard to hold. The size also allows it to fit very easily between two bodies if you want to use it to add stimulation during penetration or any other sexy fun time activity.
Limon, like it’s cousin Ola, only has one button. When the button is pressed once the Limon turns on and is ready for use. And using it couldn’t be simpler – all you have to do is squeeze. The harder your squeeze the sides of the toy, the harder it vibrates! I know, right?! Limon has a nice, deep, rumbly vibration that can go from very gentle to relatively strong so there is a wide range of intensities for folks here. If you press the button a second time, Limon goes into pulsation mode. But, unlike pretty much every other toy on the market, there are no pre-programmed pulsations – you create your own. Squeeze the Limon in whatever kind of pattern you want and as hard as you want and the Limon will repeat it back to you until you squeeze again. Want to lock that pattern in so you don’t accidentally get rid of it by squeezing? Go ahead and press the button a third time and your pattern is now locked in an will repeat until you turn the toy off.
The Limon is a great toy all on it’s own but it’s an especially good toy for folks with hand dexterity issues, sight impairment or mobility issues. The size of the toy allows it to fit easily into the hand and the squeeze mechanism is very sensitive so you don’t need to squeeze hard at all to get the toy to respond. If your hand tires from squeezing I have found you can wrap a hair tie or rubber band around it to keep it vibrating without having to squeeze. The button on the front is sizable and pronounced so it is easy to find and since there is only one button, there is no need to figure out which is on/off or + & -. The toy also vibrates briefly when the button is pressed the first time and the toy turns on so you don’t need to rely on a visual cue that that toy has activated. Also, since the toy vibrates via squeezing, it can be placed between two bodies to squeeze it, it can be squeezed between the thighs, or it can be laid on to activate it. All of these features make it a wonderful toy for a large variety of folks.
I have really enjoyed the Limon and recommend it highly. It’s quiet, relatively strong, easy to use and nice to look at. I only have one complaint about it really. It comes in pink which is pretty standard and it also comes in a lovely teal color which I have. But, it’s called the Limon! Why doesn’t it come in yellow and green? Come on guys! I am making this my official call for more citrus colored toys – especially if you are going to call your toy the Limon! 😉
